SR500 – SHOOTING RANGE AND TARGET STEEL

SR500 is a high hardness steel designed specifically for use as multi shot capable targets or shooting range protection applications. SR500 has a minimum hardness guarantee of 500 HBN, making it a superior alternative to AR500 plate. Our SR500 is produced on the same production line as SSAB’s high quality branded steels such as Strenx® and Hardox®.

At Re-Nine Safety, we chose Ramor® SR500 steel because it’s engineered for ballistic performance — not just industrial abrasion. With a 500–590 HBN hardness range, it eliminates the softer lower-end steel found in some AR500 plates, delivering more consistent durability and longer target life.
